xRockwell visited Yugoslavia in order to paint Tito's portrait for a series of covers for the Saturday Evening Post about foreign leaders. The first drawing displeased Tito greatly, as he believed it made him look too old. This is the second version which still didn't mollify Tito. Rockwell was afraid he wouldn't be allowed to leave the country, and finally escaped through Greece. The inscription reads, "My very best to the Amsterdam Famous Artists School sincerely Norman Rockwell".x
